What is a DSN? DSN stands for Data Source Name. You create a DSN so that regardless of the data source location, you can use that data source to view, add, modify or delete records, just by knowing it's DSN.

To create a System DSN in Windows 2000, do the following.
1. Click on Start > Programs > Administrative Tools and select Data Sources (OBDC).

2. When the OBDC Data Source Administrator window opens, click on the System DSN tab. Then click on the Add button.

3. In the Create New Data Source window, find and click on Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb). Then click on the Finish button.
